Begs the question why they were charging £300 in the first place ? It clearly was not even the infamous algorithm which causes the seat price to rise as the plane fills out .

Or maybe they were nearly full and have had a lot of cancellations (or transfers for which they're not charging) and so suddenly have more space and need to fill the seats quickly.  A lot of people (going both ways) will have had positive tests recently and others will decide not to travel because their hosts will be isolating.

Flybe

Maybe that “nice” Mr Scales is longing for a bit ( lot ) more self publicity and we will get another virtual airline scheme?

What ever did happen to the police investigation of his proposed takeover of Stobart Air, which saw finance fall through followed by his allegations of foul play against the vendors, and an attempt to stifle comments on here?

Maybe you are right or maybe you are wrong who knows . However I still find it unacceptable on a number of levels . Firstly the fact that a one way ticket was costing £300 ( before bags ) in the first place . Secondly that refunds have been offered for EasyJet card holders only . Thirdly that it’s still over £200 one way ( before bags ). And point four is it’s for a randomly timed once a day service to Gatwick airport . Point five compare and contrast their commercial behaviour on Manchester and Liverpool where there is competition.  I would hazard a guess that right now the London to Isle of Man is the most profitable route in the EasyJet network .  In any other sector or industry the customer would vote with their feet but so many people are trapped in a world where they believe EasyJet are wonderful they fail to see what is going on around them !
Let’s hope the other posters are right and it gets sorted quickly .

You omitted BRS and BFS. Fares from £36 to get to IOM this week. Those routes have no competition. BRS is quite possible from West London. BHX to IOM is another option for London's travellers. Those fares are £143 or £173 to the island. Another option is to take the train to Manchester or Liverpool - from where the traveller will find plenty of flights under £50 - not with Loganair though.

Interestingly, every daytime foot passenger fare in the ferry is over £50 this week.

You are right but in normal times they have two services a week so in this case no competition leads to poor connectivity .  The idea that access to the London capital is via Birmingham or Bristol is really quite ridiculous it may be fine for casual travellers but it’s hopeless for business. Compare this to Guernsey or Jersey who have many flight options into London every day.

London should be sorted in the new year....

Well it is about time it was the whole situation has been left too long ! I find it bizarre that the DOI can say there is insufficient demand for London flights ( which they said in November) but Manchester ,Liverpool , Bristol and Belfast are operating at levels broadly what they were pre pandemic . Total nonsense!

A return ticket over Christmas to Gatwick is £67. If they can't fill one plane a day, why would they put two on?
