Met Office is forecasting widespread thunderstorms, which are unpredictable as to where they actually happen:

And of course, even if linked airports aren't affected, the journey might be.  Is this saying anything more than 'expect the unexpected'.

That would never stop you going as they are so isolated that they can be easily avoided. It may add a couple of minutes onto the flight if you had to circumnavigate one, but thats it.

This is the latest precipitation forecast from the UK met office for this evening.

That weather is 100% not a problem.

This easyjet (and sleazy is now more apt than ever) fiasco has now moved beyond farce and it's time we saw some piano-wire string-up of those responsible.

Mrs Utah's return flight, having already having to fork out £250+ to get to London on Friday after Thursday's cancellation, has been cancelled.

The weather excuse is utter crap and if the airport is using that to cover their incompetence they guilty are lying through their teeth.  Thunderstorms are part and parcel of aviation; since when has flying ground to a halt because there 'might' be some thinderstorm around?

It seems to me that easyjet operations, and it would be a decision taken quite a way up its food chain, have landed on a nominal time of accrued delay to the IOM aircraft during its previous sectors, over which no attempt will be made to operate the flight - all filed under 'too difficult' and sod the passengers.

This is classic behavior when any organisation has a monopoly and becomes arrogant enough to believe it is indefensible.  I'll say it again.  easyjet should be kicked off the Island and who will replace it?  At the moment it wouldn't matter one iota because the 'service' they pretend to provide is a joke.

Exactly the point I am alluding to. If you cancelled flights based on the slight chance you may have to deviate around a thunderstorm, aviation would struggle to survive as a business.

Look at EasyJet arrivals at Gatwick on Flightradar. They’re having another great day, everything pretty much at least 60-90 late, plenty over two hours and plenty of cancellations too.

People need to vote with their wallets.

I wouldn’t mind if they were cheap.

There’s a huge band of thunderstorms over northern Belgium and the Netherlands. But clearly the Airport have only posted what EasyJet control have flagged to them.

EasyJet are having another terrible day.

IOM Airport say storms over southern UK. Either EZY have told them porkies and they haven’t checked, or they’ve embellished what they’ve been told.

Either way - it’s duff, misleading gen.

Air travel, or more specifically the airport part of the experience has become something very unpleasant -  something to be  endured as a means to an end - to get you where you want to be.

It may become an increasingly significant factor in  decisions for businesses whether or not to locate here and  for individuals deciding to where to live, choosing somewhere that has  transport links that are dependable  and more pleasant to use.

To be fair to them, thunderstorm storms are the absolute worst

But can’t airplane planes fly through them and land at airport ports?
