Not anymore it’s cancelled blaming ATC restrictions so no compensation

Surely that’s not the reason. That’s what they’re saying but really it’s down to airport closing at 9.45 and they were over that with their estimated landing time here. That’s a joke. The reason it’s cancelled is that they’re running late throughout the day. They well know what time airport is supposed to close. Who in their right mind is ever going to book that last Gatwick flight .

That’s the reason they’re giving on app so no compensation but they are paying hotels, obviously anyone planning a holiday from Gatwick who was booked to travel today won’t get there now unless they went via another route before this evening

They’re going to pull that flight. Unless they rearrange their schedule they’re just not making that flight 5 times out 10 if not more. Tbf it’s not really our ATC issue is it as airport always supposed to close at 9 45 I believe.

I was on the 6.50pm Loganair back from London City and it was half full. I genuinely don’t understand why anyone would book that late Gatwick instead of the City flight, especially with the new security at City. I was on a through ticket, yes, but it was actually cheaper than booking a separate BA and EasyJet.

This is what 15 + years of utter bullshitters running the airport gets you all of who have no commercial aptitude at all ! Believe me nothing has changed !!

As the old saying goes in respect of Chris Thomas who is a clever guy " Bullshit baffles brains !"

He was quite good on Manx Radio this morning though. It looks like he had gripped the issue even if the solution would seem to be implemented at IOMGs glacial level.

I completely agree. I’ve got one client now who refuses to meet in the IOM after being dicked about on two previous trips over. Nobody can schedule 3 days in their diary for a one day trip to the IOM. The reputational damage is huge. But as we know this is all about government buying new toys and it looks like Thomas has now agreed to go to Tynwald for approval to buy a flight simulator to base in the IOM and upgrade the security area again. Once the civil servants get their expensive new toys they’ll be happy again. Because let’s face it they don’t care about reputational damage to the IOM or any of our businesses. They just care about shiny new things that can be bought with our money. At least Thomas seems to have gripped that now.

Both easyJet cancellations yesterday were down to easyJet & apparently ATC delays over France airspace.

It's even better that that.  According to Manx Radio we're getting "a virtual stimulator".  If that doesn't make Ronaldsway a destination in its own right, nothing will.
