Let's hope this event is not a one-off and shows there is intent by all parties to make this happen on a daily basis.

It shouldn’t happen on a daily basis because EasyJet should stick to their schedule. It probably can’t always happen either, as an 11pm finish impacts on cover the next morning.

The minimum delay getting back to Gatwick over the last week has been 90 minutes. Plus two more have been cancelled altogether.

It is obvious that with the alleged "ATC issues in Europe", congestion at Gatwick, and their inability to turnaround in 30 minutes, that easyJet's planned aircraft utilisation and schedule to IOM are simply impossible to achieve.

The obvious answer is to juggle their evening schedule so they plan to leave Gatwick earlier. Everytime they cancel it costs them tens of thousands. Everytime they are hours late their reputation takes a hit.

It's beyond belief that easyJet can't see this, and take some action. I know some posters argue that IOM is just a backwater to them, but if this is so, why are they happy paying out re-routing costs and compensation at maybe £100k a week?

It makes no sense.

ETA - Looks like it'll be another late night for the boys and girls at Ronaldsway tonight. A/C lost well over an hour being turned around at Gatwick at lunchtime.

Not one single entity comes out of the recent and ongoing debacle smelling of roses (even Ringy ones!). There needs to be a change in mindset and show the travelling public that there is substantial intent to make it happen. Without that the airport is doomed as the services can't be trusted and potential passengers will look to move their business to the ferry company (like me, for instance).

The other point that people forget is the impact on the passengers . If these flights are getting back to Gatwick at gone midnight then by the time they have disembarked and got through the terminal picked up bags etc it’s likely nearly 12.45am . So unless they are staying near the airport people won’t be getting to their end destination until gone 2am at least which is not really that great .

The alleged ATC issue across Europe & Gatwick congestion is fact as French ATC are always striking or working to rule & Oleary from Ryanair was on tv complaining about French this week

Last LGW-IOM is an aircraft coming in from somewhere else so any delays on previous flights will knock on. There are no sore aircraft and crews for IOM.

No shit Sherlock!

600 pages and you just figured that out!

For those who use their light aircraft as transport, and in a number of cases for business, not to mention visitors who do come here in light aircraft particularly for the racing, another farcical situation at the clown show....

No fuel again now until the end of July. The UK magazines will be loving this, just another reflection of the utter shit show that is our gateway to the island !

I'll surmise what the airport director will say " a third party issue nothing to do with us ", has anyone found out yet what exactly managements responsibilities are ?

Apart of course from the masterplan ! Oh and fee increases across the board !

It is reported on Manx Radio this morning that the IOMG is seeking expression of interest from airlines who would be able to serve the NW and London.

EOI Northwest

EOI London

I’m not really sure who is likely to reply, but it is interesting non the less.

Does this herald the end of Open Skies, or is that wishful thinking?

You missed out that it's stated to be a procurement exercise. Sounds like they're looking at Loganair alternatives
