Banker
Guernsey car parking charges going a lot more than ours! https://gsy.bailiwickexpress.com/gsy/news/airport-parking/?fbclid=IwAR3WlRH4AW0dC7RrF2RMYVZ7bfnlk4qNgNOM32Naehl-3c5UJpBvOgJQwGA
Omobono
I don't mind paying a bit extra for parking ,what I object to is paying robbing bastards like ringo for commission while we have people who appear to be too lazy to provide a local service or even look at ANPR system same as Douglas corporation car parks it looks like guernsey also have an ANPR system in place from the newspaper article

It seems to matter not one jot, whether you are qualified to do the job or how well you can do it to HR. The current requirements appear to be 1. Do current management approve of your appointment, presumably in case you may rock the boat 2. Do you tick the boxes that HR have on their ' computer says no ' sheet. 3. Are you our civil service sort of person. 4. Who do you know ! Anything relevant to the actual task in hand comes a long way down the batting list ! Dirty Buggane
Why is it of any consequences what any other car park is charging, you always get the government narks jumping in "well it costs more in England " when ever there is an increased charge for basically anything which is supposed to ratify the increase in charge on island. ? 2
Two-lane
The taxi fare St Peter Port to the airport is shown as £6 - and is 4 miles. On a sunny day, even I could make that on foot.

On a sunny day, even I could make that on foot. Given that the latest guidelines I could find indicate £10.80 for 3 miles from IOM Airport, Guernsey seems a bargain. Though their parking charges get much more expensive for longer stays with £192 for a fortnight then an extra £12 a day with no maximum. Ours max out at £120 for up to 90 days (and then they sell your car). Presumably they've got less space and so want to discourage long stays.
Roger Mexico
Anyway, it's that time of the month again and I know you'll all be disappointed if I don't bring you the July cancellation figures. Roger Mexico
The cancellation percentage of 4.89% is actually better than June (5.74%), but because the overall cancellation percentage fell from 2.41% to 1.59% this moved IOM up one place along with the usual suspects. As ever the detailed analysis taken from the punctuality figures is more instructive. They also seem to have finally realised that easyJet are flying to MAN, so the figures may be more accurate (I haven't cross-checked yet): Airport Carrier July Mvmts Canx % Canx BFS easyJet 18 0 0.00% BRS easyJet 18 0 0.00% LGW easyJet 95 14 14.74% LPL easyJet 101 6 5.94% MAN easyJet 62 2 3.23% DUB Emerald 88 10 11.36% BHD Emerald 54 0 0.00% BHX Loganair 53 2 3.77% EDI Loganair 34 0 0.00% LHR Loganair 62 0 0.00% LPL Loganair 104 2 1.92% LCY Loganair 72 5 6.94% MAN Loganair 106 2 1.89% 867 43 4.96% easyJet 294 22 7.48% Emerald 142 10 7.04% Loganair 431 11 2.55% 867 43 4.96% Charter 28 0 0.00% Other 46 3 6.52% 941 46 4.89%
Roger Mexico
Over half the cancellations are on just two routes: LGW and DUB. We've heard a lot about the failings of the late Gatwick and these figures show just how bad that continue to be. It's actually an improvement on June when there were 23 canx from 132, but it's still dire. Emerald's performance on DUB has been more variable, but has been almost as bad previously in some months (though June was good). Loganair's performance continues to improve, with LCY still their main problem.

It’s the steep approach which is the abnormal factor that needs specific attention and training for, rather than runway length. LCY does have higher minima too, so it will likely be more prone to weather disruption than elsewhere.
