The only thing they'll understand is a phone-call on Monday morning telling them their aircraft will never come into IOM again.  The next call is to a group of professional aviation experts to task them with setting up a domestic airline, with exclusive route rights in and out of the IOM, by the end of the week.

So your suggestion would leave us without a Gatwick flight, Bristol , Belfast plus reduced capacity on other routes, that’s the worst suggestion ever!!

Setting up a domestic airline would take years plus 10s of £m , get a grip!!

That is a completely unacceptable attitude and if you conduct your life and other commitments with a similar attitude I feel sorry for you.  It's also symptomatic a bone-idle, couldn't care less, more money than know what to do with generation (or 2); the 'who gives a shit' brigade.  You are doomed to a miserable life if you live in a world of abysmal standards and expectations.  Since you appeared here, you've certainly lived up to your nom-de-plume.

What a load of crap.

There are things in life that are worth getting wound up about, and things that aren’t.

There are things where you can moan and give feedback and expect a positive outcomes and there are things where you can’t.

Getting stressed and wound up and moaning about a delayed flight is a waste of time and mental energy.  Turn an extra night somewhere into a positive and a bit of an adventure and you will be much happier than someone who turns it into a drama and an ordeal in their own head.

Our kids quite enjoyed a late night adventure back into London and a late night arrival into a new hotel as we put a positive spin onto it for them.  They didn’t see us stood there moaning with the other passengers and ranting and raving at people who couldn’t do anything to help.

I would flip your post right back at you and say it’s the opposite.  I feel sorry for people who can’t just accept a situation for what it is and run with it.  That must be a very stressful way to live your life.

Can’t wait for my next flight to be delayed or cancelled. You make it sound such fun!

Well. At least for the next 5 months Gatwick arrives and departs an hour earlier in the evening. This is due to the airlines moving to winter timetables, although IoM Airport think it’s because the clocks go back.

Someone at the airport needs their social media access removing 🤣

CrazyDave takes 150 flights a year so knows what he's talking about don't forget.

Correct, and some of them get delayed.

No big drama.

150 a year is just under three a week.

That is one visit to the UK a week and of course some trips can be six or more flights.  Even Ireland will be via the UK so four flights for a meeting there through the winter.

There are hundreds of people who live on the island who do far more flights in a year than that if they are doing business in the UK and beyond.

So a mix of trips to the UK and further afield trips which can be eight or more flights for a couple of cities in Europe and you can rack up 150 by travelling not much more than twice a month.

Indeed!! But Cobb actually said this on the Mannin Line, the other day!

Do all the other flights move by an  hour? Does the Liverpool 'patient transfer' flight go at 06.00? The man is clearly a half-wit if he believes what he is saying.

He was talking about the ATC time and was completely correct in what he said.

So if you went into a restaurant and ordered fish and chips and the waiter appeared an hour later without the chips would you just say oh don’t worry it’s fine ?

We know that ATC operate to GMT, UTC or Zulu time, or whatever they want to call it, all year round.

But the man in the street operates to the time on his watch or phone. The earlier departure is simply a schedule change which happens every winter and is not connected to the annual BST/GMT switch.

Do all other easyJet flights depart an hour earlier over the Winter? No. They largely operate to a completely different schedule. Gatwick is no different.

No because in that instance complaining will probably get you a result, and the lack of chips is completely in their control.

Do you see the difference?

It’s entirely down to the clocks.  In face you you look at the airport Facebook they have confirmed as much this very morning.
