But Menzies should have a protocol/check list of things that need checking/testing, hourly, morning, noon, evening, daily, weekly, monthly, etc. And during winter, say 1/11 to 31/3 ( Or GMT period ) the de icing equipment should be checked at least weekly to confirm its operational. And there should be a maintenance and service schedule so that it’s serviced in September/early September. And fluid stock levels should be computer checked/anudited and auto ordered, with, say, a week’s stock in hand.. This by Menzies, no one else. If they don’t perform such checks they aren’t performing their duties and they aren’t serving airport, airlines or passengers professionally Well quite, but do they? There will certainly be some guidelines, but they may not be comprehensive and penalties for breaching them may be insufficient or unenforceable. For example Cobb has mentioned that the Airport can only even start to complain about slow unloading of aircraft if the time to get the passengers off is over 60 minutes. They should have internal ones and external contractual ones. The internal ones should be “tighter” than the contractual ones. Any performance delivery tool measuring compliance with the external/contractual needs to be easy to audit and there need to be sufficient penalties. Something like the 60 minute aircraft unloading time May be acceptable ( just ) for a one off. But a scheme of reducing time limits, and increasing penalties, for multiple infractions over a week, or month should be in the external/contractual terms. 3

Is there any information about who agreed to this deal, and if there is a review option?
Amadeus
Free tip to increase sales at the airport shop: provide test strips for your perfumes. Not seen any there in over a year. How hard is it?
Two-lane
I note the camera was focussed on the Carolina Herrera Bad Boy at only £52.55. I am not at all enthusiastic to be at airports where one is forced to run the gauntlet of the overpowering stench of perfume (which is most of then these days) after check-in. At least that does not happen at Ronaldsway. 1

Aren’t they provided by the companies and most shops at uk airports have hordes of staff trying to get you test perfumes etc not 1 person trying to serve in shop and bar

Nothing to do with the civil service. The airside facilities, including the shop and Costa, are run by Caterleisure, who as usual are desperately advertising for staff. 1
Amadeus
Still haven’t managed to find a broom to sweep the place or maybe replace the knackered signs I see. First impressions and all that.
