Immigration officers meet the flight, they set up a desk in that corridor. Like it was in Covid times. Guessing the BACF/FlyDirect to Faro went tech as it landed on time from Faro.

I’ve not done a Faro from here on an Embraer, but have done plenty from Southampton, albeit on a 195 not 190. When the aircraft was close to full, it was always a struggle to get enough fuel on to do the flight in consideration of the performance limited take off weight, especially if it was warm. Southampton’s runway may be a bit shorter than here, but the extra 45 minutes flight time from here would require a lot more fuel and probably mean that you would need a ‘very sharp pencil’ to make it work. You certainly wouldn’t want to be carrying any excess fuel. Edited September 8 by madmanxpilot 1
Banker
100+ flights cancelled at gatwick yesterday due to ATC shortages, however according to many experts on IOM it should be easy to recruit whatever we need!!!

It was actually due to sickness. And is not their norm closing the airport for periods of time daily as there isn't enough staff.

If you read that article it refers to short notice issues on that one day. Yes other airports are suffering from short duration pinch points. But are they enduring closures twice a day every single day? And service provision reductions which potentially affect safety every single day too? And we're those in charge of those airports aware that by lack of recruitment they'd end up in that position for over 15 years ?
Ringy Rose
2 hours ago, lcd said: But are they enduring closures twice a day every single day? It’s a bit less noticeable at bigger airports as they can run on reduced staff by implementing slot restrictions. But the opening hours for the second runway at Manchester are still restricted due to ATC staffing issues.
