She was, after Reynolds and Spake had both left and the idea of bringing back Paul Clarkson didn't work out.

madmanxpilot
I would be totally unsurprised if this is correct. I believe the position was advertised amongst the senior management team a little while back, so only a handful were ever going to apply. They may well have even just sorted it out amongst themselves, who knows. Edited 2 hours ago by madmanxpilot

Two-lane
Is it possible that some thought has gone into this? The problem fellow gets shifted to Airport Director who, as Cobb has pointed out, is responsible only for ATC and car parks. However the ATC work is really run by the ATC Boss (or whatever title) . A new ATC Boss is recruited, hopefully with a better personality, and the current ATC Boss becomes Airport Director, and is then left to look after the car parks. lfc84
How many ATC have Jersey got? They've got a departure at 2100 tonight. Look at this departure board tonight. It's the stuff of dreams

It may well be what they hope to happen, but it won't work. "This person is no good at managing people, let's put them in charge of more" is pretty daft even by IOMG standards. And as the post is only interim, Pugh would still be in charge of ATC and a replacement couldn't be recruited. And if he doesn't have the bits of paper, they'll need to employ a consultant who does (as they did with Spake and after he went).

Clearly it suits the Scottish government to leave the loophole in place for departures from Inverness. You’d have to ask them why. As for the Belfast route, EasyJet’s weekend service is why Emerald couldn’t make their daily service pay. EasyJet’s price dumping on that route reduces connectivity, it doesn’t improve it. The complaints about the Belfast route don’t stack up anyway. For much of Northern Ireland it’s pretty much as quick to fly to Dublin and get the express coaches from there as it is to fly to Belfast International, which is an absolute pain in the arse to get to. It’s what I usually do when going to Ireland, with the added bonus of picking up a bottle of duty free Jameson and 200 tabs on the way back. I must admit Belfast international is a bit out of the way, Dublin is great to use, we flew to Poland from Dublin and we got the coach from Belfast down 1 hour and 30 mins very relaxing trip and only £36 return for us both, it runs on an hourly basis if your plane is late hop on the next one. StCatherine
Directors galore. https://www.linkedin.com/in/hannah-lo-bao-worsfold-1898192a?trk=feed-detail_main-feed-card_feed-actor-name You can be fairly certain that when the airport became the latest “arm’s length” operation the spend on senior management salaries increased.

I'd imagine that she's a well-intentioned lady, but in view of the limited opportunities to grow anything at Ronaldsway (airlines, routes, commercial revenue) you'd have thought the Airport Director ought to be abe to cover all these functions!
