Manx Taxpayer's Alliance

I'm sure you can all guess what I think about this, so it might be best not to say anything.

But I watched the video, and I have to comment on how utterly miserable it was. Bleak.

It's also quite reassuring to see that the response to it on twitter has been broadly dismissive.

So is this a political party or what?

...there are far stricter rules for standing at elections now and registering a political party etc.

Are they likely putting GE candidates fwd?

Is this Manx Election Trust by another name?

I think it might be more of a "Can't fit in with Libreral Vannin or PAG".

A passing fancy which I don't expect to be treated seriously by govt...and has no remit other than that we all have...FOI requests.

Who's funding it? Or is it just Josem's hobby?

It's hard to see in what way this is an alliance.

As a tax payer, I would like to see higher income based taxes and much more comprehensive services.

Reading the blurb I think it's more about low but fair taxation and getting value for money? Cutting government waste I guess, it does seem to be getting out of hand again?

How many times do we hear promises about this, round election times? Not only Tynwald but also LAs? And when the election dust has settled it all goes quiet.

IF the appointment of the new Auditor General post proves to be successful and not just political window dressing, that will be be the biggest move forward in years.
