All UKTV channels are imploring to watch BBC news from breaking news. I assume he’s still dead?

BBC and other broadcasters and media organisations have a detailed prepared plan that goes into effect the minute something 'of national importance' happens, like royal deaths. It would be a sackable offence to play certain songs whilst those protocols are in place.

A couple of years before she died, there was a celebratory stamp issue in a number of countries for the Queen Mother (perhaps it was her 90th birthday).  Someone asked  what happens if she died between production and issue a the plan was to run them through the printing presses again to give them a black border. 

Nothing if not pragmatic.
