Is this real, or a piss-take in Viz, like the one they did about a Lady Diana commemorative pube in a bar of soap rescued by her 'butler' after her untimely death? Genuine. Here’s the link to the Danbury Mint. https://www.danburymint.co.uk/product/prince-philip-memorial-bear-by-steiff/ Agree it’s worthy of Viz

I thought it deserved wider attention. Ive still got my ( very bedraggled ) childhood bear. Don’t need a new one.
monasqueen
This really useful object was also available within 24 hours. If the truth be known, it was probably one that they had prepared for his 100th birthday, recycled.
Roger Mexico
I thought it was satire as well, from Viz or Private Eye and googled to discovered not only the one from Danbury Mint (ground zero of tackiness) but that it wasn't even unique:

There was also the spoof Viz 'Life of Christ in Cats' plate. Sadly, I could never find the plate, but found a supplier of a 'Life of Christ in Cats' tea towel, so bought three for very special friends. 2

The black tie? At least the Stieff one had a black armband - even if it made the bear look faintly fascist.

Declan
Maybe the Commemorative Prince Harry's Stag Do bear didn't sell well.
wrighty
The worst thing about this plethora of tat that appears every time a royal is born/gets married/pops a sprog/dies is that there must be people who buy it. And they live amongst us. That’s the scary part. 2
Shake me up Judy
I think you caricature the people who buy this sort of stuff. You'd probably be surprised.
