A long answer may be inopportune, definitely adverse to your interests, and I’d be averse, and I’m pretty sure Rhumsaa might be also.

My main concern IS medicinal. Though, I do believe it should be decriminalised for adult's use of recreational. VERY basically, this is the ideal way.

1. Get cannabis into patients who need it. The quickest root is private prescription. Not the fairest, but the quickest to get meds. This WILL take pressure off of our health service. Whilst doing this have Professor Nutt, or the main pain specialist in the cannabis industry of the UK(can't remember his name right now, will find out) to train pharmacists and consultants to prescribe.

2. Determine whether it should be decriminalised or legalised for recreational via public consultation. Then prep for negotiations with UK home office in order to protect our customs/VAT agreement.

3. Develop a substance abuse strategy, ie. DUIs etc etc.

4. Decide which outlets can sell and where we can import from. *this is hard work*

5. Begin marketing or building infrastructure to process hemp. *expensive-though step 4 WOULD pay for this*

I’d be pretty much OK with that. Maybe add anti seizure to pain relief as permitted prescribing areas.

The only issue I have with most of the pro cannabis lobby is their claim to universal miracle cure remedy for anything and everything from cancer, leukaemia, etc and the lack of recognition of risk of drug induced psychosis if taken by persons who are border line bipolar.

Im on the Mental Health Tribunal. I’ve seen three such cases in the last 12 months. 2 of whom were repeat admissions.

I'm with that, from what I'm aware it's most effective uses are

Muscle spazms and seizures, nausea relief from chemo, certain symptom relief from chrons, through to a random thing such as stopping night terrors from PTSD. It's medicinal value, certainly has more benefits than it's side effects have negatives. I haven't seen enough hard evidence of any actual cancer treatment.

I'd actually love to talk to you about something else, in regards to mental health, if you would humour me? I'll happily do it on here, or private if you would prefer?

You can contact me, even by phone. I’m in the phone book and Google should locate me.

Are you the only JW in the book? :)

Keiran, I think you come across very well on here. It's a shame some are saying "TL:DR" as in the main your responses have been intelligently written and well thought out.

as others have said, don't spend too much effort on here though, there are better mediums with more middle voters.

So that's all well and good but...

How are you going to get to step 1?

Thank you. I appreciate the positive feed back... It is massively appreciated. By in large its not lost in me, that despite I'm the only current candidate determined to get all view points represented, the majority of the view points are seem to be "anti Keiran" opposed to anti view point... I'm here trying to ensure people feel represented. 🤷‍♂️

I don't feel it's a waste of my time however.. As the people who are under represented, tend to be the people who "fall through the cracks" that doesn't change because they have a bee in their bonnet about someone who is "different"

As for step one, as I'm lead to believe from talking to both Ashford and these guys

https://www.integroclinics.com/the-integro-team

That all we require is a signature from one suitable and authorised pharmacist :)

Again, it will much depend on who we get in comin.

Ive made no effort to hide that until I am actually elected, and my peers are defined... Its impossible for me to promise a delivery method, as my game plan will have to be adjusted according. With the current admin. This could be done, this way. One pharmacist.

^^that is to say.... If you live in middle, now is the ideal time to get your view point delivered, as someone is actually listening.

As it stands. 2 candidates. So I'm uncontested. If another comes up... I'm still fairly confident I'll get in . Now would be a great time to tell me what you care about....as that's what my job will soon be about. And that's why I'm running. My ethics and priorities are just to give you an idea why I'm running.

I, so far have only promised to deliver 2 things.

23.5% of my salary, until no one is paid less than living wage.

Constant updates of my movements and access to your representative.

Anything else as a promise, would be a false promise... As I can't deliver it until I see the team I'm working with. And anyone else that tells you otherwise is a liar 🤷‍♂️

I don't think any of the comments on here can be described as "anti Keiran".

You have been asked about your views and fairly challenged on them or asked for an explanation.

I once thought like you that I would stand as an MHK with no set policies other than to represent member of my constituency.  The issue is of course that means you get a lot of conflicting views and you end up standing for nothing.

That's fair, and there has been a certain amount of it. Between this thread and the main one.

From pointing out that im a vocalist in a band (like that is somehow a bad thing), to me "being in the sun too long" for suggesting that there is manx coffee...

I have my main priorities, which I have set out.

Which include bridging the gap between minimum wage, to living wage.

Boosting our medical/tourism industry via medical tourism.

Public accessibility to government and direct accountability.

Any time I attempt to try discuss these things in any real detail, I get side swiped with TL:DNR and any time I attempt to answer it in short, I get quizzed in a *brisk* manner which drags a conversation on for weeks and then I'm told, I'm spending too much time in here.

The rest of my campaign, is about ensuring I know what your issues are, so I am not only representing my own personal agenda...as the job is supposed to be representing others best interests...

I could just throw out some buzzwords and empty promises, but that would make me a hypocrite.

I'm all up for banter, the thing is... In every other medium, be it in the railway, chatting to people on the phone, Facebook, twitter and everywhere else... People have been asking me about their worries and concerns and weighing up my values based on those things.

I am unsure what I will be doing, as I don't know who comin will be, I don't know who the other 23 MHKs will be. I don't know what departments I will be working under, I know which ones I'd like to. And these are some of the main factors to how an MHK can move legislation, aside from a back bench of scrutiny.

Its going to be a very different tynwald if Alf cannon is chief compared to if Chris Thomas is.

You’re starting to learn the first thing about being a public person/Manx politician.

Whatever you say or do, you can’t win. It’s sad.

Seriously, this isn’t the place for long posts, they don’t get read. Neither are long manifestos. Bullet points are good. As is your honesty and realisation that you shouldn’t make promises you cannot keep. At best, apart from promises about what you’ll do with your pay if elected, and to make yourself available at all times, the only promises you can make are, to raise issues, to consider issues, to do your best. But it sounds wishy washy, unfortunately.

I am learning that there is certainly some conversations that are not likely to yield results.

I have tried to answer each question as thoroughly as I have felt it will be received, even to a point of asking how in depth a person would like the answer. Is there something specific you have found to be too wishy washy? I will attempt to summarise in bullet points. 😂

We're about to approach page 13 of back and forth... And im yet to be able to bridge conversations about anyone else's concerns in Middle, or the island as a whole... And I suspect, for the most part, that im not even talking to people who live in Middle 😂
