So...when this imminently goes live in the CI, will the dear old Isle of Man be only remaining place in the British Isles where residents cannot generate this QR code on their NHS digital app ?

Ashford:  QR codes for travel. It was going to be 12 August. Due to legal mattes in UK it won't be.

So I'm going to a festival at the start of Sept that's likely to require a QR code or vax status confirmation. Is there a workaround?

You now not only get an official letter of your vaccination status from manx care, but you get one from the DHSC too, absolutely free*

*terms and conditions apply. These may not work and it is up to you to check that they do before you travel. You will not be rescued.

How do I get that? There was nothing on the website about that, this morning.

Because the Manx Care letter head shows no IOM Government connection there’s a second letter from DHSC on IOM Government linked letterhead to confirm the validity of the first.

You really couldn’t make it up!

Which is why we urgently need the app to work or be able to use the vaccination status website to get the QR code

That's going to be fun explaining to a student volunteer in rainy field with a queue behind me and limited phone coverage.

Or just scrap the whole pathetic idea. Less than 10% of the adult population have not been vaccinated. Let them crack on with it. Good luck to them!

Or an easyJet, Wizz, Ryanair or Vueling dizzy blond check in staff in Bulgaria, or Greece, or anywhere.

Julie Edge asked a really good question about this fact. They spent a fortune re-branding it all to Manx Care but nobody ever seems to have thought - hang on, maybe we’d better make the letterhead and logo look official as a health provider just in case other health authorities want to take our documentation seriously.

It’d be easy to add something on the Manx Care certificate to say it’s the mandated health care provider of the IOM Government.

It’d be easy also to print a QR code with the necessary biometric info, name, date of birth, address, passport number or other ID, date of vaccinations, type, authorisation, plus batch number. It’s not rocket science.
