Thats also very easy to fake thought John is it not?

The English ones are on special heavy duty watermarked paper. And you have to produce the ID as well.

But yes, the sooner we have the English app and that it complies with EU and WHO standards and we get reciprocity in place, the better.

After all we’re running a QR code landing form system with much of the same data, even from the EU app now. ( there was an Italian guy on the boat today with his exemption form 2+2 and his QR landing form )

The whole thing is becoming more and more pointless though. Uk, 75% of adults double jabbed, 90% single jabbed, soon to be double. Uk passport should therefore soon automatically assume the person is protected.

Same here.

Why should the vast majority suffer the queues for the tiny minority who are not jabbed?

The NHS app is required for international travel & access to a wide range of indoor hospitality, museums & travel in an increasing amount of countries. Also needed for nightclubs in UK from end September & probably other large events

Yes, however in the uk it is pretty pointless as very soon 90% of adults will be 2+2. Why keep the unvaxed out of places? They are the ones most at risk!

but they pose a greater risk to others, that's why

Only marginally. The vaccinated are approximately half as likely to contract the Delta variant so for someone with the exact same movement patterns I guess you could argue they're half as likely to have it, and half as likely to be able to spread it. But the vaccinated seem to be able to spread it just as readily as unvaccinated, so if both have it it's a bit irrelevant. Personal behaviour is probably a bigger indicator of risk to others than vaccination status at this point.

I don't agree. We have been over this a million times on this thread, but a vaccinated person is

  • less likely to contract it in the first place
  • If they contract it its more likely to be killed off in a shorter time meaning the person is infected/infectious for less time (thus infecting fewer people)
  • If they contract it it is more likely to be killed of before it replicates as much and therefore the person is likely to be less infectious

The combination of these factor means a fully vaccinated person is almost certain to be many many times less of the risk to others (but not no risk) than if the same person were unvaccinated

For Delta the viral load in a vaccinated person is barely distinguishable to that in an unvaccinated person, which would suggest they're not killing it off in a shorter time nor stopping it from replicating as much.

Where is your reference for this. It goes against all expert opinion that I have read.

Yes but you need to read it thoroughly and understand it properly. No offence meant but is states that the 'so called' viral load can be just as high in vaccinated persons who have breakthrough infections/cases, it then goes on the state that these are "extremely rare"

if you aggregate this is makes your 'marginally' statement completely misleading

Like I have said before if a person has had close contact with someone with COVID 19 and if that person is a:

  • Vaccinated person then they 'might possibly' infect you
  • Unvaccinated person then they will probably infect you

That is the difference and its not just marginal
