The only plausible argument against is the rates, which need reforming anyway. Like Port Erin rates are almost double Rushen, what would happen if it became one new South LA? The PE rates won't go down, the others would rise.

It costs the same to empty a bin in Ramsey as it does in Port Erin. All island rate needs to be introduced asap

TheTeapot
There's not a chance it'll lower it for anyone. They'd look at Douglas and Ramsey, which both take the piss, and base it off those.

It need reforming with an all island rate. 1

Swim in your own shit Fine, so you should be paying higher vehicle tax for using more roads to get to Douglas and Onchan. You don't because the idea is bonkers, just like the current LA and rates situation.
the stinking enigma
I can understand you being unhappy about paying more to get more services than me. What i cant understand is that you'd be happy enough still paying your rate as long as i got screwed over too. I think you maybe have deep seated psychological issues.

Didn't @Chris Thomas start the rate reform process? looking at revaluing rates based on property square meterage using building footprint from aerial reconnaissance? Did it get kicked into the long grass or filed in the "too difficult" draw? I imagine it's very difficult to come up with a "fair" system due to all the factors (occupants, building size and usage, location) involved in assessing them.
