Annual Filing Fees and some work for the Corporate Service Providers. I would love there to be loads of jobs but we have to face reality. If this venture is successful then the island may get some crumbs from the big table.
SleepyJoe
Are there incentives Digital IOM could offer to people like Musk to locate more aspects of their tech enterprises here?
pongo
It's a small bit of useful business - not the future salvation of the IOM economy or the next big thing. (Some people are getting carried away here because Elon Musk's name is on the story.) The real story is that lots of little bits of important day to day work are done here, typically unnoticed - adding up to a whole. The point is that it isn't a major breakthrough for the economy - but nor is anyone serious saying that it is. It's just some good work. He’s the greatest visionary of our time, and anyone that can get a rocket to land on its tail gets my vote. If you want the sort of guy who deliberately tanks stock prices so he can buy loads of it to be installed as a dictator, do it somewhere you live. Now is a time to try men of force and vision , and not to be confined to those considered thoroughly safe by conventional standards. trust me, I’ve sufficient interest still on island to desire its success. We need folk like Musk to start to carve a new way for the world - disruptors and challengers. Micro nations need these most of all in order to thrive.

He's not a man of vision either, he just buys companies and brands himself founder. Everything Musk now heads already existed without him.

You can sip the woke Kool Aid all you like. But he is a visionary and innovator greater than anyone we already have on the island. We need people like this to pull the island up by the boot straps and get us on a suitable heading. Most of the critics probably think the industrial revolution happened with out a few eggs being cracked.
