Covid Deniers and Anti Vaxxers

Large numbers of unvaccinated people keep the thing in circulation and increase the likelihood of further mutation. They pose a significant risk of further transmission. And if they get sick then they will create a drain on NHS resources.

Research has shown that vaccinated people who catch Covid 19 typically have a significantly reduced 'viral load' and are therefore less likely to spread it.

It's not only that the anti-vaccine people are dumb. Not getting vaccinated is selfish.

That is about the top and bottom if it.  It does reduce viral load, lessen the symptoms and reduces the chance of becoming infected, so if someone is not willing to have the vax, they expose themselves and other, selfishly.

Is there any reliable data that sets out the risk of being vaxxed and not?   It needs to be simply presented for everyone to understand.  But, if course, it will be hailed as propaganda.

The anti vax stuff reminds me of JW's aversion to blood transfusions, almost criminal negligence when those in need of a life saving transfusion were denied it because it was in contravention of some biblical interpretation.

I know of someone in health work who has refused the vax, shocking dereliction and negligent attitude towards the vulnerable people in their care.  I hope they have either resigned or been told that they are no longer able to perform their duties.

You can tell the illuminati lizard overlords are worried, making sure these stories are getting leaked all over the press to scare everyone into getting microchipped.

I have a few friends who are totally against having the vaccine. None of them are stupid, in the usual sense of the word, but I can only imagine that they are terrified of the possibility that the vaccine has not been properly developed? One of them is convinced that Bill Gates will be able to control him somehow! God knows what Bill would do with him when he has the choice of nearly 8 billion other nutters to choose from!

Unfortunately it now seems that if those who are vaccinated catch Covid (which still does seem to be less likely) they develop just as high viral loads as those who aren't.  Which presumably means that they are just as transmissible..  This seems to be a characteristic of the Delta variant - with earlier ones there was about a 60% reduction.

We don't on the Island have large numbers who are unvaccinated[1], so if 95% of adults are (at least part-)vaccinated then you are more likely to catch Covid from someone who has been, than someone who isn't.   Of course it doesn't just affect those who haven't been vaccinated, but a (much smaller) percentage of those who have and especially those for whom vaccination may be less effective.

And of course if you are one of those want to encourage Covid to circulate as widely as possible, because you've had your magic jabs so you don't care, then you are creating a perfect environment for those mutation, just as Delta developed to become much more transmissible.

[1]  Except of course for those under 18, who we care about so much that we don't want to protect them from a deadly disease.

This remains subject to significant dispute, but unfortunately the CDC went and told everyone as fact while calling for masks on kids aged 2 and up. Which is frankly fucking insane (and a surprise from Walensky who normally comes across as pretty rational) and exactly the kind of stupidity that gives more fuel to the loonies.
