Yet Shahak and Schneerson were also renowned for their philanthropy and their attempts to bring together the less-fotunate of the diaspora, organising charitable agencies, Shahak especially. Mezvinsky I'm not so familiar with. Schneerson could perhaps have been referring to the traditional preparations and perception of death as per the Shemira rituals, quoting from the ancient texts. How would we know? Great pains went in to discredit opponents of the Zionists and the Ultra Orthodoxy, the propagandist entities on all sides indulged in what modern society now calls, 'fake news' and deliberate distortion of real truth. As for the alleged comment made by the Rebbe.
