You may have missed my response, to this subject on the 26th of last month, when it was previously discussed a couple of weeks ago ( page 110 on this thread if you want to revisit it). I reproduce it below “Hang on. The incredibly stupid Daily Express has a column stating that the UK is not included in some EU transport network because it is not part of the EU. Well duh! In what sort of universe does that make Brexiteers stupid.! The stupid people are the ones that think the Daily Express speaks for Brexiteers seven years after the event!” So basically you pick a non story from a rag of a newspaper and somehow use that to try and tarnish Brexit supporters Edited January 6 by The Voice of Reason Addition of last paragraph. My point was I do not understand why the Express was complaining that the UK had been excluded from an EU scheme! No. I meant the Express. Clickbait for the dumkopf. An accident I'm sure... So when do we get to see the sunlit uplands of your precious brexit...? I'm not obsessed but I do believe in holding the guilty to account for deliberately diminishing the UK in so many ways and polarising the populace with an even deeper schism than even Thatcher managed! This very well written, as per, piece in the Guardian caught my eye: "Sanguinity is one of our best traits as a people, and long may we abhor the rush of blood, but still I think we have a problem with memory and righteous rage retention. It is understandable. Grudges can only be held for so long and it’s good to forgive and forget, not least because civilised humans must be able to move society forward without the debilitating weight of undue baggage. The pain of slight, disappointment and loss can’t stay front and centre. A measure of amnesia is vital to progress. "But responsibility matters, competence matters, failure matters. And surely it matters that those who egregiously fail us all aren’t allowed to trundle on in public life. Emerging from the wreckage they created without reckoning or cost to careers and reputations. Once upon a time the failed and disgraced were expected to pay penance by leaving the spotlight, acknowledging those failures and shortcomings with pursuit of an uncelebrated, quiet life. Now they seek millions from speaking tours, immediate returns to prominence and comfy jobs such as Foreign Secretary. "What to do about this? In all ways, be decent. Respect our values, our laws, our democracy and the political process. "But do wise up; don’t look at these people and pretend nothing very much happened." A lot of people have wised up to the fact that they were taken for fools, but there's still a way to go... Wow! The Guardian - that well known upholder of unbiased news!!! 😂😂

woolley
Depends who you ask, I suppose. A group of champagne socialists would have the Guardian top of the tree every time because it's staffed by kindred spirits.

You want to worry about the anti-establishment billionaires who all seem to want peerages and come from the establishment they pretend to hate. They probably are in the minds of the UK right wing press in thrall to the agenda of the owner, which is to say pretty much all of it. I guess very desperate times require very desperate measures ie any old toss will do...
The Voice of Reason
This is just one of the reasons that illustrates why the UK is best off out of the EU “Strained relations between Scholz and Macron threaten to derail EU action against Houthis Diplomats fear situation may stymie Berlin’s progress in convincing Paris to back expansion of French-led EU anti-piracy mission Tensions between Olaf Scholz and Emmanuel Macron threaten to derail EU action to tackle the Houthi threat in the Red Sea, diplomats have warned. Relations between the German chancellor and the French president are strained over issues including energy subsidies, Chinese electric car imports, defence policy and Ukraine. On Monday, Mr Scholz warned EU member states they were not sending enough military aid to Kyiv in a thinly veiled swipe at Mr Macron, whose support lags far behind Berlin’s. The Franco-German “engine” has long been the EU’s most influential relationship when it comes to policy-making in Brussels. Diplomats fear the strained relationship may stymie Berlin’s progress in convincing Paris to back the expansion of a French-led EU anti-piracy mission in the Straits of Hormuz to the Red Sea. One EU diplomat said: “The relationship isn’t really working at the moment. The Germans think the French are not doing enough on Ukraine, despite talking a big game, and they are right.”
