Interesting article here in the NME. Non musicians probably don't appreciate the effect that Brexit has had on the industry, but touring musos have really been stabbed in the back.

This issue was brought up again and again and leavers always refused to admit it would be a problem.

Brexiteers don't give a shit about the arts.

In the words of Roger Daltrey.

The Who toured europe before the UK joined and they will tour after the UK left.

Other musicians were of the same opinion.

Not realising that  it was their managers that arranged the visas at the time. Daltrey and co were too busy being drunk and thrashing hotels.

Presumably The Who have the money to pay for all the extra paperwork that is needed now. Many, if not most, artists don't.

It's also all the issues with trucks that carry all the necessary equipment. There are very short time limits and also limits on how many stops they can make.

I could be wrong but I don't think many of these regulations existed in the era before Britain joined. And let's not forget that Britain had a say in EU regulations regardless of how much brexiteers claim they didn't.

 Also, Daltry is a dick.

One of the great mysteries of life is how many, otherwise rational people, will allow any old bullshitting cretin with a plummy voice to lead them into wars, take away their freedoms, ruin their environment and livelihoods. How so many can believe the Farages and Johnsons of this world is truly stunning.

I agree.

Alas, Britain’s rich and famous “are different to you and me” … They are all at risk of being inflicted by ‘loss-of-ability-ailments’, that are beyond our wildest imaginations. E.g., the no longer ‘Royal Highness’ has apparently lost the ability to sweat (now that he is losing many other ‘entitlements’, I am beginning to suspect that this ability will shortly return). Jacob 'Smaug' lost the ability to hide his disdain for Scotland, and BoJo lost the ability to tell the truth long time ago. And yet, the British public keep taking it on the chin time and time again. No wonder we are the laughing stock in Europe.

To be honest most people have a disdain for Scotland, or more accurately the politicians representing the Scots.

Far from being the laughing stock in Europe many look enviously on the way the UK has managed to extricate itself from the strait jacket that the EU is
