Very funny Brexit thread here. But also a bit exasperating.

Comments following the cited FT article also quite good. So obvious they made up their minds first and have since been making up the rationale to justify it ever since. Thus all the logical incoherence and everyone rarely on the same page.

Someone saw "just a picture of lorries".

Someone, more reflective, wisely noted the lineups go on "as far as the eye can see..."

Consider the associated caption "Dover Customs at capacity", if a photo of lot full of cued lorries is too non-specific to make a point.

"At capacity"...as in "at maximal limits and unable to accept more". Thus, all others and the goods they carry unable to proceed. Leading to increased costs and delays, not to mention distress to drivers and business owners/customers.

Get it?

And if the caption read “lorry drivers park up to take their lunch break and eat their sandwiches and Yorkie Bars in their cabs” ?

You may be aware of the photo (an advert for the Guardian if I remember) which appeared to show a yob attacking someone but he was really pushing them out of the way of falling masonry or scaffolding.

Things are not always as they seem.

Do you get that?

Anyway, that apart I’m sure Dover Customs has been at full capacity on many occasions pre Brexit so the implication behind the caption is somewhat disingenuous.

The replies after the tweet are quite interesting. Pity there is insufficient formal investigation and consequences (if merited) for unethical behaviour (such as the electoral subversion and conflicts of interest suggested).
