Thanks Andy (Although it is not exactly "South Quay" as reported on MR. That berth is what used to be referred to as the "South Edward".

Doesn't the King Edward pier have some standing as one of the very few things named in honour of the abdicated King Edward?

Must Google.

ETA it is the only public building in the British Isles to be named in honour of Edward VIII. Even then we knew how to back a winner!

It really would have been a coup if we'd have actually "got The King's Speech" rather than just nearly got it.

ETA and for the film makers too. I wonder was this mentioned during the film negotiations.

Anyway all is now revealed.  The reason for the grounding was diarrhoea.

I spent ages looking on the Ship Registry website and its UK equivalent (they often do investigations for IOM) for the actual report, but it only seems to have been published in response to an FoI request (Title: CEG Orbit Report; Date submitted: 11/07/22) as apparently the Latvians under whom it was flagged at the time, then took over.  Anyway here it is:

Is this feasible? He's desperate to go to the loo and 15 mins later the engineer feels the crash!!! If you have diarrhea and your stomach is telling you so, it doesn't take 15 mins to have a poo? Surely the bridge has another person on at all times? Even at night Cranstal would be visible from 15 mins out?

Maybe it's another case of no one knows where the Isle of Man is!!!

As it's in and out of Ramsey all the time I doubt it, however Russian vodka may have been a contributing factor!
