Maybe Douglas should aspire to be a bit more upmarket something like here perhaps ?

There is an awful lot of flood water in those photos. Maybe that is where the DoI got the idea to install a 4 foot high plate-glass screen outside the Shore Hotel.

Douglas. Expect loudmouthed drunks to be gangling up the streets from around 2:30am - 4:30am every Sunday morning.

Licensing to 3:30am is a nightmare. Who benefits from this? Certainly not peace/sleep loving folk.

Could folk in Port Erin imagine The Falcon or The Haven being open until such a time. The Creek, The Marine, The Pev in Peel?

As the title says: Douglas Sh@hole!

Douglas is a town, town's have nightlife, it doesn't mean they have to be a shithole.

Mind you, the nightlife in Douglas is pretty much nothing special anyway!

It used to be a grand night out when we were whippersnappers though Max.

Bet you're a right laugh at parties.

Imagine buying a place in a town with pubs and clubs then whinging it's to noisy for a couple of hours once a week.

You don't happen to live on the TT course and moan when thats closed as well?

No I don't.

We have lived here for over a quarter of a century. It's been fine. Its a town with all the benefits that brings. It's only the past 2 or 3 years or so there has been a relentless onslaught of drunks loud-mouthing it up the street on the way home at 4am or so in the morning. It has always happened since time immemorial and we all accept that, but these days it is just about guaranteed every Saturday and Sunday.

How you can somehow attempt to justify such rowdiness in the way you have is shameful.

Been there done that.

Did you maraud the streets of Douglas kicking wheelie bins and anything else in sight? Did you tuneless sing songs at the top of your voice. Did you talk loudly with every other word been 'fuck' or 'fuckin'?

No. I bet you sat more or less quietly in the bus station, cold, hungry but happy looking over the nights events and with the comfort of a couple of Players No.6 ciggies you had left (No.6? maybe before your time?)
