Blade Runner was worth 50 of the 'Newbies' on here, love him or loath him, he expressed his opinion not a mash up recently read threads and cliches.

I’ve let myself down, I’ve let my family down, I’ve let the forum down, I’ve let my country down, etc…

I've noticed lots of retired walking type visitors.

I wonder if they have a nice sea facing view of Douglas Bay and Promenade.

I wonder if they get woken up at 4:00am in the morning as the pissed and/or drugged up loudmouths leave the 3:30am licensed premises (1886 and Jaks) staggering their way home.

I wonder do our visitors think Douglas is a Sh@thole

May I suggest you purchase a BB gun?

Or we could just hand actual punishments to people who act up.

Why punish the 99% of people who don't cause trouble after a few drinks.

The promenade looks great in my opinion, until it gets dark. What a soulless, dimly lit, lifeless place it is, even during the TT. All the attractions are gone, everything looks shut, which it largely is.

A few drunks scrapping must liven the place up!

Got to agree with you. It's a bit rough around the edges but the new sea wall and walkway should fix that (if DBC don't object again).

The attached image shows the existing seawall - somewhere on the prom. The curved upper lip is designed to throw waves away from the seawall, but over time it would seem that the profile of the beach has changed, and that feature is no longer effective. During a storm, sand and stones from the beach are driven over into the road.

If a new, higher, seawall is built, presumably the beach will continue to be driven up against the new wall until the beach is higher that the pavement.
