Fred the shred
I thought if you signed up at GP Patient access and patients online appointments you could make appointments at Village Walk although I have never tried to do it.
wrighty
Funding. Manx Care get told - “You are mandated to provide these services and you have to do it with this money” Councils - “We’ll keep emptying your bins, just half as often as you’re used to, and you have to pay another 12% this year otherwise we can’t” Is this right? Discuss. 1

It used to work at Village Walk but I think it's been disabled for quite a while, at least 6 months, may be a year.
Sentience
Fairly recently I had an MRI scan. Something was discovered that perplexed the specialists who analysed the results...they didn't know what it was! So they said they would request an 'URGENT' appointment for me to see the relevant specialist for the part of the body where this unknown object had been found. Couple of weeks passed and I'd heard nothing, so I called the hospital and was put through the the departments secretary and explained about this appointment that had been deemed 'urgent' Very helpfully she explained that they were 13 months behind on 'urgent appointments.....13 months. Also, it is now 10 years since I applied for an NHS Dentist. Is this the REAL state of our health service on this Island of ours. Incidentally I have paid into 'the system' for over 50 years and apart from 5 hospitalisations over those years for simple operations, have not been an expensive patient for them. Sad to hear but unsurprised ! I have been extremely lucky health wise and have had very little to do with the NHS for which I'm thankful. However as time marches on I've been referred to Nobles for two minor investigations, neither of which is killing me but .... On the first occasion I waited months and months to hear from Nobles, the person who referred me said probably 6 weeks ! The first thing I heard, after some months was the waiting list had been reviewed and it was deemed I did not need the referral. I went back to the person who referred me who was apocalyptic ! On the second occasion, for a different matter, I received a similar letter after a consultant ( I had to pay privately to see as I did not want the matter to become serious and needed advice) and subsequently my doctor had written to the hospital advising them I needed a minor procedure, the letter I received asked if I still wanted to be on the waiting list ! Seeing the consultant privately had helped alleviate some of the symptoms following his advice, but I could not finance the procedure. I have no respect for Hooper and Ashford both of who shouldn't be anywhere near public service and are unfit for purpose, Hooper is the most arrogant and intellectually lightweight individual. Given these two and the ridiculous idea that is Manx Care I am saddened but hardly surprised at the state of our NHS. I should add that none of the above is any reflection whatsoever of front line staff, who on the one occasion I met them in person have been wonderful ! 2

I've been on the list for a minor op for a year now. I recently received a letter from Manx Care ostensibly to attend to the waiting lists; it basically asked me to respond if I had died, been miraculously cured or given up.
