Also in court was John Aycock, representing former DHSC chief executive Karen Malone. Mr Aycock said that Mrs Malone was advised to appoint her own legal representative by the DHSC on August 2.

Interesting Aycock is one of the best employment lawyers in the Island. Looks like they might have told her she’s in her own from now on. He won’t be cheap.

I had a call from someone that was in the room but 15minutes ago to say Ranson has won.

ah its on twitter too

It was about the DHSC and IOMG reputation and I think lack of. Repercussions even more than getting rid of a few civil servants.

I had a phone call from someone who was in another room when this was announced and they said the shredder has now broken.

A few staff where on to HR asking about sick leave and early retirement.

A couple had said 'they were going outside and may be some time'.

At least 20 were removing any mention of working in DHSC from Linkedin and Ashford has changed his number - again.

Ashford changed his number, he may need to change his trousers if he is criticised again.

I thought that LinkedIn was like a online CV/social media for protensious idiots crawling up the greasy pole. If they remove reference for DHSC then people will ask even more questions of what is being hidden.

Or they may be trying to muddy the waters by increasing the number of appeals.

Edited to add: Though whether Malone is even involved today is another matter.  Gef reported:

Mr Aycock told the court that Mrs Malone was unsure about what was required of her at this time due to the unclear wording of a document from the tribunal on August 1. Deemster Corlett agreed that the wording wasn’t the best, but assured him that neither her presence, nor an affidavit form her, is required for next week’s hearing, if it goes ahead.

So it would be difficult for her to complain about an event she didn't have to be involved in.

Totally correct too

However at Douglas Courthouse today Deemster Andrew Corlett told the appeal the tribunal had not descended into an inquisitorial role and that there was no sustainable foundation for the appeal.

Ascertaining whether documents that were relied on by the court were fabricated or not couldn’t possibly be outside of scope logically otherwise everyone would just be making stuff up to fool the Deemster.
