A comment in that article is:

"We did two reviews six months apart and they said the same thing, which gave us confidence we were short of around 92 nurses if we had every single bed open. "

To be willing to wait 6 months to be in a position to know if the organisation is short staffed surprises me.

He also states that the problem predates Manx care, why have they not put in measures to resolve a long standing issue?

The legacy issues excuse is wearing a bit thin, and is allowing unsafe practises to go unresolved.

This has just been put out by Manx Care - I wish they would look at their own practises first!

If you cannot attend your appointment, please cancel it so that it can be offered to someone else. Information on how to cancel an appointment is on the Manx Care website (https://www.gov.im/categories/health-and-wellbeing/doctors/), or you can see the best way to contact each practice below. Manx Care is publishing GP practices’ DNA data for each month.

Can’t see what’s wrong in publishing this information & asking people to cancel appointments if they’re not going to attend

One of the problems I can see is that when it is a phone consultation and someone has gone to the bathroom just before the phone rings, they then get a txt to say they have missed their appointment which was given as between say 2 and 2.30! Which goes down as a DNA you then have to ring to make another appointment and are given a date of 4 weeks, making it a total of 6 weeks from making the original appointment.

Has that actually happened as most people would take phone with them
