"Dr Ewart told the tribunal she didn't recognise the number replying: 'No idea who you are, or what you're talking about' - and blocked the number after Dr Ranson identified herself."

There are some classic lines in this drama. There were not too many from the politicians, though, as they mostly didn't say anything. Apart from Ashford's "I shredded it" and "A point-by-point rebuttal is in the post".

Ashford still doesn’t get the significance of him still not producing that ‘point by point rebuttal ‘ does he. Little scroat. Has he ever gave a reason why he hasn’t ?. Or is it just because as we all know he can’t .

Given the reference in the judgment to the fact that of the seven identified Medical Directors/Chief Medical Directors in the UK the salary range was from £149,375 to £170,000 and only Sir Christopher Whitty (just) earned more than Dr Ranson I suspect fears that people might not want to apply for jobs here might be a bit overplayed

And there’s a big income tax advantage for such a salary here.

A cynic might suggest that Henrietta delayed the border closure notice because she had two holidays booked.

We can see quite clearly that the department was meeting regularly to discuss COVID, is that an appropriate point in history to take a holiday?  We never did find out who approved it or why.

Not once but twice in two months.

14-22nd and again from 6th of March to the 19th.  A dereliction of duty.

Diary attached.

So the alternative narrative apparently goes something like this......RR wanted a lot more money than was advertised. This was agreed as long as it was for a 2 year LTA which DHSC HR thought was agreed and signed. This strategy might have been adopted as the previous substantive MD cost them over 300k to 'let go'. The current MD (now on 'secondment') was/is on 231k. Money not the problem. Poor old New Zealand pays so poorly that RR didn't even bother to apply for the top medical job there.......

Union to escalate Ranson case to UK Health Secretary

Saturday, May 13th, 2023 6:20am

"We will take on whoever needs to be taken on, because we must see justice done"

The Chair of Council at the British Medical Association has revealed his intention to escalate issues being faced by doctors on the Isle of Man to the UK Health Secretary.

Professor Philip Banfield says the Dr Rosalind Ranson case is wider than just a handful of select people but also includes those who've moved to the UK where they aren't subject to Manx laws.

The Union says a culture of fear that medics are facing is among the worst in the British Isles and taking these steps isn't 'extraordinary', but 'necessary'.

Professor Banfield told Manx Radio he wants to make sure people are held accountable: An audio clip follows.

I don't reckon that Prof. Banfield will be any match for our very own Prof. Ashford.
