Just another day. Seems to be a running theme about Laurie Hooper, not the first time we have heard he is a ranting bully. However it does seem it wasn't just him to blame.

He was £8M over budget and coming back to Tynwald for more money when he was proudly displaying his new FCA certificate on Twitter the other week. He can’t even be a good accountant either. cheesypeas
But the changes they want to bring in where this committee are concerned, are against the law. So how can they push the reforms through?

Yes it makes you wonder how much Callister being dumped was because of August-Hanson stirring things up. Of course Cannan's inability to control the situation was part of it as well, but she and Hooper clearly share the belief that they should be completely in charge without the slightest criticism ever being made. Of course they don't have the faintest idea what to do when they are in charge, but their control must be absolute. 1

After all that's what they did with Ranson and look how well that went.

Only Tynwald can change laws and this may even need to go through the primary legislation route, so there will be more scrutiny. What they certainly can't do is change the law via a press release, which is what they seem to be trying.

So he’s clearly doing his usual thing of listening to nobody and accepting nothing that he doesn’t want to hear. 1
