IOM DHSC & MANX CARE

Manx Care have cancelled Cardiology Clinics, blaming capacity issues. Not very good when people suffering heart conditions have their clinics cancelled and have to rearrange. It seems we are getting announcements by Manx Care on a daily basis, either cancellations, striking nurses or A&E can’t cope. It seems both the management and Minister Hooperman just can’t get a grip.

Between DHSC and MC, there must be enough management employed now to get a grip of the iceberg that sank Titanic....

The NPM (MR) this morning features Manx Cares decision to cancel Cardiology Clinics, and has a painter and decorator who is affected. There are repercussions, namely if an individual is not treated, their appointments cancelled, they are given new appointments of over a year away, there is a strong chance that their medical condition worsening. If they are in pain, they may be forced to give up work, which in turn is creating other issues - a) lack of skilled labour to the economy and b) lack of tax receipts into the exchequer.

What’s your solution? You can’t go to Uk because they’re on strike!

MC should just refer everyone to UK. The damage via the Ranson affair has tainted IOMG as no one will be willing to work here.

Massive waiting lists & all doctors on strike at present so not really a viable option, we will just have to offer even more money! Or get BUPA or like to open private wing with some incentives eg free rent first 3 years

I never said send them to the UK!

Also I am not employed on a high salary with excellent conditions along with a generous pension package. Nor am I a politico, either MHK, MLC or LA member, so it’s not for me to come up with solutions. These questions need to be asked of and answered by Manx Care and Minister Hooperman. Sadly Minister Hooperman and CM Cannan are hiding behind the fact that Manx Care is run at ‘arms length’.

What would you say to somebody who have a medical condition requiring the services of a medical consultant, and their appointment is cancelled and rearranged over 12 months later. If that was you, would you shrug your shoulders and say ‘c’est la vie’ or ‘shit happens’? Or would you happily quaff champers with CM Cannan, Hooray Henry’s and the great and good, praising them at every opportunity.

If someone who is unwell, awaiting a hospital consultation and their appointments cancelled and rearranged, there is a possibility of the condition getting worse. That person may have to give up work, and then claim benefits. The NPM (MR) has only featured one case study, how many others have been affected? How many other specialities clinics will eventually be cancelled? I would imagine the local media and social media will feature many more examples.

It’s the same everywhere! I gave a suggestion above. I just think these constant attacks on IOMG, hospital, civil servants, buses etc are pointless without any constructive suggestions on how to resolve issues.

I am not a medical "professional"

If someone is having cardiovascular/blood/circulation issues you might want to look into "alternative" treatments, for which you need to do your own research and decide for yourself. I understand it is now almost impossible to see anyone in medicine, so you have to help yourself.

Try:

Nattokinase supplement

Also add:

Bromelaine - Fresh, sun ripened pineapple (frozen section in shops)

Curcumin (turmeric). Add black pepper for a top anti inflamatory.

I would recommend discussing any supplements you may wish to try (based on your own YouTube research) with an actual qualified professional.  Many of these things are entirely benign and do nothing but produce expensive urine.  Others however can have significant effects, particularly in interaction with other prescribed drugs. Would you recommend taking Nattokinase in combination with clopidogrel and apixaban for example? Many people with cardiovascular conditions are already on these.  Taking an unknown quantity of a potentially synergistic substance is not sensible, no matter what YouTube might suggest.

This is disgusting, my house needs painting urgently!

I think this is a serious attempt all round to fatally damage and restructure the NHS in the UK and here, possibly privatisation?

I heard this man on the radio this morning and felt so sorry for him he described his symptoms and they sounded really frightening.    To cancel an appointment at 9.00am the day of the appointment is understandable if the cardiologist has taken ill or been detained on a life threatening case but then to add insult to injury to offer a replacement appointment in a years time absolutely beggars belief,  unacceptable and ridiculous.     What is happening to Nobles Hospital ?

It’s not just confined to Nobles, but Manx Care as a whole, which covers GPs surgeries, RCH, and Community Services, not forgetting Social Care.

Hooperman, CM Cannan have been completely missing in action, and some of the other politicos, the ones who like to be toytown champagne socialists have been invisible too.

Apparently the cardiology clinics have been reinstated from next week, but unfortunately the damage has been done, and I get the feeling that things are going to get worse, and possible unpopular decisions being made - whilst the majority of the GMP will be affected, you can be assured that those in power, politicos and the pen pushers won’t have much to worry about,

A friend had to go away and seek help when they had problems which were associated with the heart fortunately they have private health care so got an appointment very quickly.    I think this is what the politicians involved with health care are counting on more people investing in private health care thus easing the load on Manx Care, this is what is happening with dental care I now go private because after years of being a NHS patient my dentist retired and I know other people who have had to do the same.    If I was a young person with a family I would certainly have private health care and dental care for my family as a priority even if it meant doing without holidays etc.
