Roger Mexico Posted May 12, 2022 Share Posted May 12, 2022 The really strange thing about Ashford's reaction is that you'd think there would be an easy get-out from this in blaming Magson for everything and apologising to Ranson. It wouldn't be very convincing because it wouldn't address the problem of all the enabling behaviour from others such as Malone and the HR people or why government seemed so unaware of what was going on, but it would look as if it was addressing the main problem. But then it was clear to any outsider that this was going to happen as soon as Ranson's evidence to the PAC came out and that any public tribunal was going to be a disaster for the government. I would also hope that David Cretney is now so out of Govt that he will not try to defend the behaviour with whatever influence that he has in the MLP and that he will use his experience of such to reveal the extent and influence of the CS in the public pronouncements of MHKs, so that we can try to understand how these matters can be countenanced by our elected? Please don't use this as an excuse to have a go at DC. this is far too serious! He must have so much insight into the backroom maneuvers that it is time for him to 'reveal all'? These paint an unblemished and unsavory picture of the relevant individuals personal bias and contempt for others. It is the disclosures that have shone a light into the nastiness of the people involved. That is why the disclosure was so late.
