pongo
I love these things in general. But there seemed to be a lot of stuff which didn't quite belong this weekend: Knackered old nothing-special Volvo estates from the late 90s and crappy Rover MGs from the 2000s. Not really classics. My daily driver is older than most of the entrants! Then again was the criteria classics only?

Yeah, I clocked a few around the Island. I'm all for it though, they must've spent a few quid and absorbed a positive impression of the Island.

The old Volvo estates are getting collectible now. You'd be surprised at what is sought after.

The Duck of Atholl
There didn't appear to me to be anything in the advertising literature saying it was a classic event. It was a festival of motoring (not further described) so bringing your Skoda Octavia or whatever was par for the course. Probably better IMO as it makes the whole gig less exclusive and more accessible for the average Joe. Two closed road runs and a police escort lap is mighty fine hospitality...

Stunning In fairness the Island came to life again last weekend , not only did we have the classic cars , but motorcycle racing at Jurby, a round of the European Enduro for motorcycles with many world class riders , you couldn't get into a restaurant or a pub ,at the weekend ,huge late season boost for the tourism economy ,steam packet full of vehicles and passengers and flights starting to look healthy again ,please don't spoil it by knocking those who are trying their best to keep this place alive
NoTailT
I was on the boat yesterday heading to UK. What amazed me amongst many of the vehicles that had come over and were travelling back home, most of them had never been to the IOM before and can't wait to return. 1
