I'll be very surprised if that target is met. That's only 13 years away! It'll take at least two administration's worth of time just to get the planning approvals in place, let alone the equipment/sources.

It's always good to set ambitious and challenging future targets......for someone else to achieve (or probably more correctly, have no hope of achieving).

Where did the £400m come from? He either incurred £400m of debt to pay off £400m of debt, or it was £400m that should have been spent on paying for hip replacements.

Wait till tomorrow morning and we may find out as Chris Thomas has two questions down:

3. The Hon. Member for Douglas Central (Mr Thomas) to ask the Minister for the Treasury –
How much the September 2021 bond launch cost; and what the expected annual costs are until the maturity of the bond?

4. The Hon. Member for Douglas Central (Mr Thomas) to ask the Minister for the Treasury –
How much was drawn down from the bond issued in September 2021; and what use has been made of these funds?

Or we may not find out, given it's Ashford.

Too late, shredded already.

I'm expecting them to cheat & buy in 'renewable' energy from the UK

Me too.

There is nothing at all wrong with that if that's the best option for us

Of course it depends upon the UK having a reliable source of renewables by that date too and us having a second connection

Do we have any updates on this yet, please?

Not down in Hansard yet (which stops at Q2) but available of Listen Again:

Ashford is clearly trying to hide something about the costs of the launch - expect future announcements that he has given full information when it's about as comprehensive as his full rebuttal.

In the debate around energy price rises in the UK there is mention of the green charges that are applied to energy bills and the need to scrap them.

Do we have similar punitive regressive charges to fund 'climate change' on MUA or Manx Gas bills?

Don't give Daphne ideas....
