Finally a win for Jonesy's Barmy Army today.

On the flip side that was their lowest league crowd with only 476 people showing up.

A lot of people chose to support their local clubs... didn't FcIoM promise not to play when the local leagues had games?

Castletown v Colby in the Combi was a good game and far cheaper than the Bowl

They had to play the game at that time yesterday due to there not being a return flight for the opposition team today.

It was also wild at the time the game was played so I'd imagine it contributed to the crowd being low.

Please give us some cash. We're skint.

Hate to think what state their finances must be in with the way their attendances have plummeted.

Putting up ticket prices from £ 9.50 to £ 10 seems hardly revolutionary.

What they really needed to do was get in the top 5 or 6 last year and then edge closer to the top this year, hopefully going on to win promotion in '23 or '24. They would've built anticipation and enthusiasm for 3 or 4 years then.

But they fucked up the narrative by getting promoted on their first go. Oops

Erm so what is the excuse this week?

They are up against teams in a higher league with better players. FC have stated only IOM based players so are limited in that respect. They are doing fine given that restriction.

Someone today told me that the government are stepping in to pay away sides travel and accommodation from next season.  Not sure how that will go down if there's truth in it. (Albeit could be a manx rumour which we know are usually rubbish)

For what it's worth give it a few years and they will be challenging in this league . That said how far they can go is questionable . But I think its great to give kids something to aspire too .

Probably a slightly less worse use of money than wasting it on trainspotters like they already do.
