Yes, they did, Vibey.  Effectively, everyone who couldn’t be arsed turning up and voting for somebody else elected him.   That’s the way the system works at the moment…

Erm, nope, try that again, you might get there in the end...

There was no election. There were no other candidates.

Fair enough - my mistake.

So: how many of the people complaining about him - or ranting about a failure of democratic process - will stand for DBC against him, next time?   Hands up at the back, don’t be shy…

Probably quite a few, the shambolic election process was not on normal peoples radar as it was poorly communicated in the post pandemic period,  rather like the refuge collection changes, in fact since Clare Wells and the social media dullards got in, proper communication with rate payers has been cut more than the bin collections and instead we have wannabee social media dullards fannying around for likes instead of doing good governing.

Obviously you are standing then as you have these views

That was a big sentence!  🤣  But the tone is just like the other DBC conspiracy cultists.   It’s a shame: you’re often quite funny, witty even - but that was just dull.

I look forward to you standing for DBC at the next election, though…

what I find amusing and ironic in the resurrection of this thread, which isn’t the thread with most of the anti fortnightly and anti councillor rhetoric, is that @Gladysand I both maintained we had both filled in a corporation consultation about collections and recycling. And, look, this thread is all about that consultation, there’s even a link in the first post. Yet the vociferous ones claimed, and continue to claim, that no such consultation took place.

Not sure it could be classed as a formal consultation, if there is such a thing. Or that the results of any consultation are published, beyond how many responded.

But, people were given the opportunity to give their views.  Admittedly, it was online so was only available to those who had Internet access, but there was a testing of the water or vox pop.

Threads on here rarely relate to the original topic and are forgettable. Clare Wells and the odd german sent out a junk mail christmas card to households that did not elect them, but no information about changing bin collections was sent through with an exact date of change. Not everyone obsesses about consultations, nor follows dull germans on social media but would expect to be told when the refuse collection service is about to completely change, is that too hard to follow?

But this was publicised, over various media.  Short of knocking on every door, what more could be done?
