They haven't learned to live with it? Come on jeeves, stop bandying that line.

Sydney for example

Population 5.3m

Just come out of a 107 day lockdown because they had a case prevalence at its peak of 1500 ish.

That’s insane nearly two years in and they still have loads and loads of travel restrictions.

Stuff that.

I've confused myself here - I wrote the wrong thing above. Sorry for my confusion, it is entirely my error.

Just to be clear.

1. you accept the IoM rate is higher, not lower, than AUS and NZ by a factor of 10 and 100 respectively ( in round terms )?

2. You’ve confused me with someone else?

Does that mean Skippy can’t return in the foreseeable future?

So today is last chance saloon for nominations, interestingly no MHKs who were not returned to their seat seem tempted.

Don’t be thinking they weren’t tempted, but the public opinion was probably strong enough that they weren’t brave enough.

Hah! And there's always the people who believe or believed our very own forum @P.K. (especially when he used his full name) is/was an MHK.

I hope public opinion is strong enough to dissuade the successful candidates from taking the undemocratic backdoor into government

It does seem to be a case of MHK’s nominating their mates who share the same views or dinner tables. But I guess that’s just politics. We all tend to stick together so should not be surprised if politicos do the same. Although I think those who are spoken to by God should declare that fact. ( Thinking here Bush and Blair who started a war because they later said they’d chatted to God about it - not that I’m suggesting any of the candidates would start a war.).
