they voted to review/update the 2014 strategy on offshore energy generation, with Comin to report to Tynwald by June2022.

I think...

However, Crogga only have a 4 month extension to their existing license, and a decision will have to be made to extend this further before June2022.

Tynwald shysters are giving themselves a handy excuse to kick the can down the road for the gas field development.

£8 BILLION solves a whole lot of fucking issues, transition to renewables/low carbon within the self imposed timeframe to 2050 being the biggest, and it would be absolute total fucking lunacy if they don't at least give Crogga the additional 18 months security they need to do the seismic surveying to assess likely recoverable reserves (find out how much is there!)

There are a lot of very uninformed people protesting over this. Some think IOMG and the taxpayer is funding this. Nothing could be further from the truth. It won't cost the taxpayer anything until if/when/what reserves are there.

I can think of many things further than the truth if your argument is that they're right, but not immediately...

Probably still more efficient than burning fuel in a car engine.

If it was charging as many electric cars simultaneously as it's maximum capacity output allowed, yes.

But not a 2L+ diesel engined generator charging one EV.

Looking at them I doubt if any of them pay tax so it won’t bother them and most of them probably don’t pay household bills judging by the age group. Stu should not worry about the woman who does not like him, Peters out banner,   apparently she could not spell Wannaburgh, who yet again according to Mannin Line did not vote again…he seems to be a very indecisive man 🤔   Daft Daphne is not popular atm how she ever got re elected is a mystery after her last term when shooting goats and bringing immigrants here to live was her major concern.   The next five years are going to be tough…very tough that is certain.

One problem with new extractions of Gas, Oil and Coal is that it adds to amount available. It could be very tempting for Govts, our own maybe, to push the current deadlines on a bit, 'because it's there'.

Well technically it does

The world total will go from absolutely bloody loads (more than we will ever use before 2050) to absolutely bloody loads (more than we will ever use before 2050)+ a teeny weenie bit more
