Better still, take the young lady he was with on Saturday who was wearing high heels and leopard skin tight leggings. They made quite the sight walking along Lord Street together. My eyes nearly popped.

It was like Bella Lugosi meets the Avengers.

It's not every day you have a member of the order of the british empire in our midst. That kind of title is pretty appealing to simple minds.

I hope you’re not suggesting the young lady was of simple mind just because she was wearing skin tight leopard print leggings with high heeled boots?

Not at all. The missus wears very similar attire and she has a BTEC in Travel & Tourism.

Reminds me of the Mrs Merton question to Debbie Magee.

"What was it about British Empire awarded Treasury Minister David Ashford that attracted you?"

Was she a "Lady of The Night"...?

It was an accusation of misconduct in public office which according to MR is the same wording being used against Ashford. It seems to amount to the same claim though which has previously been used by anti vaxxers in the UK against some UK MPs. Which were thrown out by the police who were asked to investigate.

It will be thrown out. But if it went to court then definitely it would be one to watch or be on the jury for. Maybe Gef could to the court coverage with numerous humorous cartoons of Heady & Ashy?

No jury here, for this. Misconduct in Public Office isn’t a criminal offence in IoM. It is in England. These proceedings are civil. No police involvement. ( except for Del banging on about how we need it - must have cut an immunity deal when he retired. )

Wondering whether you think a misconduct clause is desirable in Manxland. What's your take, JW..?

Most, if not all, of the things it covers are caught by bribery, fraud, etc offences already.

Lots of people seem to think it covers incompetence and could be used to rein in incompetent or negligent politicians and civil servants. But incompetence and poor decision making aren’t criminal and shouldn’t be made so.

Different methods of holding to account are needed for those.
