Thought I'd stick this here as it's also about a derelict building!

Seems to happen regularly up in Rhumsaa.

Hardly surprising. Everytime somebody wants to improve Ramsey, out come the petitions to stop them

It's not an "improvement" as such, it's the DOI carrying out some safety-based remedial work to yet another Ramsey building that is in danger of shedding masonry and material into public streets and walkways. This building (and its occupiers) have long been a matter of concern.

I wasn't referring to a specific building just the general attitude of Ramsey folk

They should have finished the job when they were clearing Old Ramsey all those years ago.

Some might say that it would have been a waste of time had the DOI gone ahead with the proposed Quay plans when so much of the rest of the original town is being demolished or falling down around it 😂

There's a few residents wondering how things were ever allowed to get into this state, it didn't happen overnight...

The local commissioners should have gotten to grips with this a long time ago. They all put themselves up for election but appear to have done nothing since getting into office. The new crop were making noises but so far not a lot getting done

Why are they trying to save Newsons it is an old building…yes but if they knocked it down the Saddle would come into its own and it is an old building which provides fun and frivolity to many 😊

It's of no architectural interest and it's the usual silly buggers who want everything to remain as crap as it was when they were young!
