Non-Believer
I'd like to see a couple of posts that would, "Day to day, map out, prioritise and actively manage out pointless excess headcount in Government offices, focusing on savings and the taxpayer. Also work on behaviour change campaigns to help normalise actions that cause unauthorised recruitment. And there'll be no requirement for a new website to do it." I'm sure they're all lovely people, but these are just non-jobs, what on earth can they do on a day to day basis? total waste of taxpayers funds IMHO. Just another fall guy type job, when he’s just about ready for retirement they’ll pin the tail on the donkey and buy some more time with new false promises. Thats all the IOM Gov. environmental policies are a way to subsidise electric vehicles and loft insulation to the middle class who are 'doing their bit'
SleepyJoe
Home insulation is absolutely necessary, and grant aid + advice has to be made accessible to all
TomTucker
Households that can afford to spend £100s and £1000s on insulation shouldn’t be the target of improvement grants. It should be those that can’t afford it.
SleepyJoe
If you can afford to pay from £2,000 to £6,000 then you're unlikely to bother attempting a grant application with IOMG
TomTucker
Spend £6k that you were going to spend anyway then discover you can get £3k back by filling in a form. Means you can insulate you loft and go on that ski holiday! You under-estimate the crooked-ness of the human race, this sort of thing is also bragging rights down the pub. "We have cheap electric because we can afford a Leaf", "We make money off the MEA because we can afford solar panels." I would do the same but these guys don't need help IMO. We should be helping the elderly to remain in their homes and not freeze.

Moghrey Mie
Tynwald debating 10 year review of IOM Biosphere. https://www.biosphere.im/ Chris Thomas MHK quite rightly pointed out that it should be across the whole of government and not just in DEFA where it is liable to be treated as a 'nature park'. It is much more than that. https://www.biosphere.im/our-5s Edited July 19, 2023 by Moghrey Mie

It seems we get just a lot of wishy washy stuff without any substance.

It sounds good, but no one actually comes here because of it. Liverpool was just stripped of it's Unesco World Heritage site status, because they created modern developments on the decrepit abandoned docks. I'm sure there were few tears shed.
