What are the incremental benefits of having biosphere status? Was that highlighted? It seems we get just a lot of wishy washy stuff without any substance.

I thought it gave IOMG an opportunity to dick wave against its competitors and it could put UNESCO Biosphere strapline on IOMG letterheads.

Out of interest do us taxpayers pay for the UNESCO Biosphere award, like a business guide entry?

Lots of companies are Biosphere partners and they use that in their advertising.

A couple of days ago, my daughter got a certificate for swimming 10 meters.

The teacher gave us a voucher to take to the Pool reception and pay them £3.50 to receive the certificate.

I imagine this is a very similar scenario.

Congratulations on your daughter’s achievement. Did you pay for the certificate?

Thanks.  I'd like to add that she is only 4 and weirdly has been able to swim that distance underwater for ages.  It's getting her to do it on the surface and not pretending to be a mermaid that's difficult.

Of course I paid and exited via the gift shop.

She is a better swimmer than me! I can barely swim.

The notion of biosphere is great, but I do wonder if it adds any real value?

Well hasn’t Liverpool Docklands lost its Biosphere accreditation because of the new Everton Stadium which will create loads of new jobs and enhance the area, most likely leading to more investment.

So my answer would be no. It doesn’t add any real value at all

It was actually Unesco Heritage status they lost. Because years of development (investment and jobs) has ruined the Victorian Dock apocalyptic wasteland.

But otherwise your point is still valid.

A bit like this government has ruined the Victorian seaside resort due to lack of of intelligence and throwing peoples tax's on shite pipe dreams

If the Manx Government ran Liverpool the Three Graces would have been demolished for car parking.
