But if there were problems at the level the Chief Constable says exists, there would already have been several convictions. I don't recall reading about that. So maybe the Chief Constable is trying to prevent crimes that he believes are about to happen. Roger Mexico Posted January 31, 2022 Share Posted January 31, 2022 Reading between the lines it looks as if the Cabinet Office have tried to push this through and CoMin have insisted that it go out to consultation. Typically they have done it in such a cack-handed manner that it will probably have much greater opposition than if they had done it in the normal way. And quite right too. I actually suspect they have been merrily doing such data sharing anyway and this is a hurried attempt to tidy things up once they have realised that it was always illegal.
