Which jets he is thinking of and who will fly them? Certainly they are asking for Typhoons (Eurofighters) but how many of those are going spare is debatable. Word is they are fairly decent, maybe class them as a 4th+ Generation Fighter. Not quite up there with the 5th generation F-22 / F-35. F-16s (like the Thunderbirds) would be a good call though. They are still excellent jets despite now being quite old and there are loads hanging around. Seems the Americans have initially poo poo'd that suggestion though. Probably why they're now asking Britain for Typhoons. Edited February 9, 2023 by The Phantom

The Russians can't be underestimated; have we seen their best forces mobilised as yet? I don't know if we have. I heard a good quote the other day. "Russia has a large and modern army. But the large part isn't modern and the modern part isn't large." 1

P.K.
If they are losing over 800 KIA per day that's a regiment of Muzhiks gone every single day. Even though their human stockpile is enormous this rate is surely unsustainable. To get an idea of total losses take the number of KIA and multiply by at least two and possibly three times to get the number of wounded. Edited February 12, 2023 by P.K. Maybe the time has come for Ukraine to selectively target Russia's power stations

The problem is that Ukraine are also losing large amounts of troops. Maybe a quarter of this, but still that's a lot and will they run out first? Certainly seems to be an upshot of reports from contacts of mine regarding friends lost, including NGOs and medical/aid support that appear to be deliberately targeted. Not sure if anyone saw the footage over the weekend of another column of Russian armour being obliterated? Reports say up to 30 tanks and armoured vehicles near Vuhledar including an Orc Colonel! Absolutely shocking tactics, all lined up close together taken out by a mixture of artillery and mines; seems they still aren't learning (luckily).
