Yes they’re taking over the old sayle art gallery, surely it’s a public right of way like the bit outside villa cafe & we can walk through?

That seems to be the crux of the objections thankfully. Read them last night and they all virtually object for that reason. The architects seem to think that pedestrians will be allowed through. If Jaks apply for this to be a licensed area then surely there will be restrictions on who can "walk through" Hopefully it will be rejected.

Yeah let's not have nice things because people can't be arsed stepping two metres to the side when passing it by.

Indeed, it's not like there any other empty properties littering Douglas that they could use!

Also who will be expected to foot the bill for it's conversion as it's not privately owned?

This has been discussed before and I am sure the applicant stated there would be a passageway to allow people to pass through without stepping out as someone mentioned inclement weather.   I do hope they include a toilet in the plan because when the Italian job was operating you had to use the public ones at the top of the arcade.    We used to love going to that restaurant always a good meal and the children used to play in the Villa Gardens.   I don’t now why it closed it was always busy when we went.
