There’s a thing called the Municipal Association where representatives of all LAs meet once a month, at the Braddan commissioners office. I’m one of two Douglas representatives attending these meetings regularly. Again this is just another reason to bin the current system and go with an all-island local authority and all-island rate. Difficult to disagree with you but you should have seen the reaction in the room at a recent MA meeting when this topic came up and the DOI minister said something similar. As they say Turkeys won't vote for Christmas. A robust plan needs to be drawn up by Cabinet Office and Comin and just impose it when the current LA election cycle roles around. DOI should be kept well clear of the process. There is no logical reason to involve that chaotic organisation.
