Mr Bradley is quite a convincing man when dealing with complete idiots. You can guess which outcome it was. He sold a high risk over the top project with ‘key brands’ becoming involved in a multi million pound investment into a key regeneration asset to get a lease for almost nothing on a plot of land where he can now rake in car parking fees for doing absolutely nothing. He must have literally re-allocated £250K of revenue a year off the DOI for the cost of drawing up a one pound 99 year lease. The development (if it ever happens) will probably pay for itself in time out of car parking fees as the company that got the lease had £1 paid up capital and had shelled out for a few plans and a lease and that’s about it. If it sits there raking in car parking fees the DOI would have otherwise got for another 10 years they’re laughing all the way to the bank. Edited June 26, 2022 by Steady Eddie Toned down. But he’s getting no can park income as he’s not allowed to operate as a car park so not sure what rubbish you’re going on about!!

He's allowed to operate it for contract parking - and indeed did before the space was needed to temporarily replace the one across the road. I don't think he had that much custom (it's a bit out of the way for Athol Street and then Covid hit) and he clearly wanted it to become a proper car park park again. I doubt it will happen as it looks too much like taking the piss and DoI/DBC don't want the competition. And as for evidence of this; well there cars parked there daily who are presumably paying to use the plot. Surely Govt pay rates will be aligned to DBC'S under the PSC terms? DBC are analogous to Govt in that respect, are they not?
