Thereby bypassing the need for 25% of the apartments to be affordable whilst placing an arms length government funded organisation in direct competition with private landlords. Interesting indeed

does that also mean they will be out with or exempt from the landlords legislation that government and its agencies have cleverly removed themselves from ,

and can they also include Rheyrt Na Bay  elderly persons home  off Windsor road  in a future study ,if its not suitable  for elderly people anymore because government have changed the regulations and shot themselves in the foot , it could easily be adapted for single people  or key workers ,  but most of all don't let the police do their riot training  in there as  thats what has wrecked the interior of the Nurses Home in Douglas

Roof top and most of the building is apartments, ground floor is a coffee shop. No car parking because 'active travel' but car charging points for the virtuous. Apartments designed as a (presumably limited period) 'landing pad' for returning graduates  and essential workers. Having lived next door for over 10 years I think it's a tremendous scheme and a good use of a difficult building.

How many cycle stands will planning require?

That's very interesting. As the treasury is the sole shareholder, where does the rent go? And manages the property?

I guess it's too soon to see the application on manngis?

Should be handed over to an independent housing association, both to manage & to reinvest rental income in property maintenance & new acquisition/development

You’re repeating this nonsense again. The interior was wrecked long before the cops were allowed to train in there.

Take it from someone on the team of all trades who, for 15 years were tasked and struggled to maintain the building.

The island needs lower rental properties for key workers than the private landlords offer to attract key workers like nurses & teachers so I’m all in favour. If private landlords aren’t happy then reduce your rents you robbing git’s

There’s a huge demand for one beds for returning graduates, essential workers and singles who are relocated by employers. I’d expect much the same by Dandara when the old Lord Street flats are done up.

If it’s government owned, funded, presumably they’ll  be rented through DoI, like most public and social housing, and key workers accommodation.

Its a good call.

Not a good call at all.

Two bed roomed properties would be just as attractive to returning graduates essential workers and singles who are relocated by employers.

It’s a mix of one and two beds, as will be Lord Street, but different ends of the market.

I think that’s fairly transparently the plan however whether existing legislation will allow it is a different matter

Will be interesting to see how the planners go for no parking given another brownfield development has struggled to fit a car lift and basement parking in its private development.

Well being government they'll just do as they please!
