Not often I agree with teapot but they are kids for fuck sake, no need whatsoever to know about any kind of penetrative sex let alone by a bloody drag queen

I was trying to find out whether the problem was with one type. Personally, I tend to think Year 7 isn't too early.  I think so but not sure.  At Year 7, from what I can recall being that age, most children had an idea of what sex is.  And that's knowing what sex is.  As for talk about innocence, well, that's just naivety.  Children at year 7 have a good idea that sex exists.

The whole drag queen thing is being misunderstood as nobody said a drag queen was teaching about sex.

Year 7 seems a bit late. We learnt about it in 1st Year, but had obviously had a pretty reasonable idea of what sex was from playground discussion in last year primary.

Pretty sure the Life Education Bus introduced the basics of reproduction in year 6.  Nothing overtly sexual or in detail if I recall.

I dont recall any specific sex education at High School outside of biology classes apart from one day being split into groups by sex and having periods explained to us.

I dont recall anything covering sexuality but there was an incredible amount of bullying going on if you were deemed to be gay.
