On GB News tonight:

Salute those parents but they must be bloody livid. I hope they throw the book at the School and the Department too.

Glad to see allegations made openly. Perhaps there will be a proper debate now,  despite the warnings not to speculate.

DESC have failed to jump on this quickly, of course there will be speculation.  Tough.

There is this this called the Internet and it takes very little effort to find freely available hardcore pornography.

Most children will at least have access to an Internet enabled device and many will have parents who have not implemented any Internet controls.

I suspect by the age 13 children will have seen much more sexually explicit content than boobs on page 3 of The Sun.

Those of you who are parents may also want to look up the reports of children being groomed via Spotify.  That's right Spotify.  A service with no messaging facility but which is still being used by paedophiles to access children.

Why would someone bother going to the extent of accessing a school if they just wanted to corrupt children?

Well maybe they would want to corrupt children in a physical environment rather than online? There are some strange people out there

I must stress I am not saying this is the case in the particular instance we are discussing, just giving a possible answer to the generic question you posed

If only the people of middle had voted an anti woke warrior who could pick this up like David Fowler. Seems Stu Peters is still 'picking his battles' or hiding under a table

Well the thing is if Stu makes even a humorous posting it gets ripped to shreds by those looking for a more sinister interpretation.

No wonder he would be cautious about what he posts.

Surely anyone going into an education environment to talk to pupils has to have a DBS check?

There lies an interesting question about whether you deserve additional scrutiny from the people if you choose to be a representative of them.

But this is Manx Forums. He is posting as a member, a private individual, as do I. I’m not subject to scrutiny on here. At least I hope not!

It’ll depend on the school/regional policy.

In general, there always has to be a member of school staff present, unless there’s a very good reason, such as an appropriately vetted social worker working with a child.

Which leads us back to the question of where the teacher was in this whole thing.

I don’t think so, there are potentially dozens of different visitors to a school.  Visitors without a DBS should be accompanied.

So, if it all goes wrong it is down to the person accompanying the visitor?  They should know when to jump in and stop inappropriate material?

Have to agree. Stu would be ripped to shreds if he went within a mile of this. But I hope he's got an opinion and I think it would be a fair one.
